Vert vs Squarespace

Vert allows you to invite up to 5 members to help run your business. 

Squarespace offers the ability to add ‘contributors’ but unless you pay for any plans above the personal one, you will be limited to yourself and 1 other person.

Vert’s website builder is designed to be as easy to use as possible. Customise your website's colour and fonts, pick from pre-made sections called ‘blocks’ to add in your text and images, and the design will work on desktop and mobile.

While Squarespace also has a more visual editor compared to others, it does come with a steeper learning curve. You also can’t preview sections on your page before adding them, so there can be a lot of back & forth when finding a section that works.

Vert’s website builder lets you add in custom blocks if your business requires something more specific. You can also create block templates and save them to use on other pages.

Squarespace doesn’t allow custom code on their Personal plan so you will need to purchase a Business plan or higher. This can be limiting to some solo users who are running a small business but need something specific to cater to their needs.

Vert’s designer gives you plenty of options to design a website that suits you and your aesthetic, without limiting you so much that you’ll look like everyone else. Play around with roundness, colour palettes, fonts and spacing to find a unique look perfect for you.

Squarespace has their own aesthetic which has been created to help portfolio-type sites look good, but it can make it hard for users to stand out from others using the same platform. Unless you opt for paying for the more expensive plans, you’ll find it requires more time to create a site that represents you if you’re not into that aesthetic.
